A message from Tara

I’ve discovered there are just times when God has to catch our attention. I was in that same boat four years ago. I had developed a very bad habit of trying to keep everybody around me happy. Soon it became harder and harder to do. What started out as “I don’t want to offend anyone, so I won’t say no…” or  “I don’t mind teaching that Sunday school class; somebody has to do it…” turned into a lifestyle where I was filled with resentment and had very little room for Jesus. I was so concerned with everyone’s opinion and appearing perfect, that I lost sight of what was truly important: my relationship with God. Through losing a deep love for serving, trying to juggle a hectic lifestyle and eventually battling depression, God caught my attention in a very loving but profound way.

When my depression was at its worst, I remember feeling like I was drowning; I couldn’t breathe from all the pressure. I felt like I was in the middle of a stormy sea, fighting for survival. After thinking there would be no hope, I realized that Jesus’ arms were around me the whole time. I was working way too hard! He could carry me through every situation, every problem, if I would only let Him lead.

Maybe you’re like me and you’re tired and resentful from trying to do everything for everybody. Maybe you’re a hypocrite and the only ones who know it are you and the Lord. Maybe you’re exhausted from trying to be perfect. It’s time to ask the real reason why you serve. Just ask, like the old acting cliché says, “What’s my motivation?” God’s love is unconditional. No one is perfect and the amazing thing is that God delights in us, despite all our flaws and mistakes. You can have the joy in serving that you once knew. Ask Him to forgive you for being a people-pleaser, instead of a God-pleaser. He can show you the first steps to take to transform you into a servant who gives out of love. If you need to make this decision today, please feel free to fill out the form below. I would love to pray with you!

Know that God loves you beyond your wildest imagination and He has some amazing plans for your life…

You are loved

Tara
