Well, the day came when Judy decided to hang all those pictures up. She spent many hours in the building, just trying to figure out which paintings should be grouped together and what frames would go well in each room. She had decorated the majority of the building and was left with a handful pictures and two restrooms to decorate. Yes…Judy always decorates the bathrooms. I’m kind of surprised that her potties at home aren’t gold-plated but I guess her husband had to draw the line somewhere!
We were there in the ladies bathroom trying to decide what would be most “estrogen-friendly.” Judy picked up a framed print and started to hang it on the wall. We both took a step back to view the lovely vision. The print was of a country verandah, with a rocker, hanging flowers, and quilt displayed on the porch. Lovely scene, right? I looked at the text underneath the painting and started laughing. It said “Come find a quiet place and sit a while.”
Judy and I began giggling thinking about some poor woman entering for, um, “quiet time” and reading that print. Judy grinned and shook her head, “No, no, no. That won’t work! Hand me the other print over there, sweetie. The one with the pretty flowers on it.” We got the second painting up on the wall and took a step back to enjoy our handiwork. And then, we saw it. Below the beautiful spray of flowers, the text read “Ah, the sweet fragrance of God’s people.” We busted out laughing and giggled about it for another week.
Be sure that your Christian friends point your focus upwards, because you’ll never make it with your mind in the toilet.
