God loves you beyond your wildest imagination. He created you with a plan for your life.
It’s easy to see that our world is in a mess. Ever since Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, we humans have had to deal with the curse of sin. God is perfect and sin is easily defined as anything that is less than perfect. We all struggle with making mistakes, sometimes in ignorance and sometimes willfully. Despite our desire to do right, we all fall short. Let’s face it- we’re a mess! Romans 3:23 - “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
Sin always leads to destruction.
Romans 6:23 - “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Sin can keep us from a relationship with a perfect God. Trying to do things our own way always leads to heartache and even more importantly, keeps us separated from God our Father. But (and I just love that word) praise be to God, who has continual mercy and compassion on us. Knowing that we would stumble and fall, God provided a plan for us all to be saved. He sent His Son, Jesus, that we would have hope. Jesus was perfect diety, wrapped in human flesh. “He was as we were, yet without sin”.
Romans 5:8 - “But God demonstrates His love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Jesus came to this earth, taught us about God’s love so that we might understand who He is. He healed the sick, the blind, the diseased and performed many miracles, so that the world might understand that God is a Lord of compassion and power. At the climax of God’s great plan, Jesus was falsely accused and condemned to die on a cross. He was nailed to the cross and died a Perfect Sacrifice for our sins. He took the punishment for everything that you and I have ever done wrong. Three days after His death, He rose again and lives forever. After His resurrection, He appeared to hundreds of men, who are all great witnesses to His power over death. (All this information can be found in John ch.19-21.)
Romans 10:13 - “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.” Salvation is a gift. God won’t force it on you. He leaves the decision up to us. To be saved, all you have to do is admit that you are a sinner and believe with all your heart that Jesus died to save you. You ask for His forgiveness and tell Him that you want to be His forever. It really is that simple. The amazing thing is, not only do you become His child (with all the benefits that includes), but you will live with Him forever in Heaven when your life is over. Our lives are short; if you’re like me, my life seems to go faster the older I get. Don’t put this decision off. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. God has some incredible plans for Your life, but He wants you to come to Him. No one will love you more. If you have questions, please feel free to personally.
